How to… add shirring to Summer weight Homebody Joggers

I needed a pair of lightweight supper comfy trousers for my holiday last year - and I turned to my trusted Homebody Joggers Pattern. With deep pockets and a wide comfortable waistband, these are always my go-to comfy pants!

I wanted to make some Summer weight trousers so I chose a viscose jersey which has a lovely drape. In the taped leg style, they are not too clingy.

I love shirring and use it on so many of my handmade makes, so I though, why not try incorporating it into a hack of the Homebody Joggers. I lengthened the joggers by 16cm then turned them up by 8cm. I basted the hem up and then shirred the remaining 7cm of the cuff with lines of shirring spaced approx 1cm apart.

I love these super comfy but stylish bottoms and I’ve worn them so much since making them - time to make another pair for this Summer I recon!
