Weekend Sewing Club FAQs

  • Our patterns are designed for sewists of various skill levels who want to create modern wardrobe staples. Each pattern is designed to be sewn in under three hours, making them perfect for weekend sewing projects. If you are a beginner expect the projects to take you a little longer.

  • Your Membership starts on the first day you subscribe. Payment will be taken on the same day each month.

  • You can cancel your membership at any time before the next months subscription charge is due. You can manage your membership in your account.


    Upon cancelling all access to the membership area will be also be cancelled.

  • Yes! Each month features a unique PDF pattern. We started with our free Mix It Up Tee pattern in the challenge, and each subsequent month will bring a new design. Month one is the First Rays Sundress, perfect for summertime fun!

  • Yes, you will have full access to the archive to use any time. Each pattern will be accessible in a separate section with a general section for all your fitting, fabrics and sewing advice. Of course, as more content is added the price will increase for new members, so join now and secure the current lower price for the lifetime of your membership!

  • All patterns fit Bust: 82cm-138cm, Waist: 66cm-120cm, Hips: 90cm-140cm. Measurements are provided in CMs.

  • Our patterns feature modern wardrobe staples that can be completed in under three hours – perfect for that weekend sewing fix! Each pattern comes with creative hack ideas so you can "make it your way" and customise the design to suit your style.

  • You will access the Membership portal through the My Handmade Wardrobe Patterns website. If you have already set up an account, you need to click on the link at the bottom of the sign up box to access your account. When the membership opens on 1st July 2025 you'll receive a photo guide and a video via email to help you access all portal resources.

  • The portal provides detailed fit advice and pattern alteration advice to help you achieve the best fit for your body shape and preferences.

  • Yes! You'll have access to step-by-step photo instructions and technique videos to guide you through each project. You will also be able to access the Live sew-along after the event in the portal.

  • These comprehensive guides help you prepare for each project, covering everything from fabric preparation to organising your workspace and gathering necessary tools.

  • Live sessions are held on the 2nd or 3rd Saturday of each month from 10am-12pm UK time. All dates will be available in the portal.

  • Our interactive Saturday Sewing Sessions are live sew-along events where you can sew as part of our supportive online community. It's a chance to work on your project together, ask questions in real-time, and connect with fellow sewists.

  • All live sessions are recorded and a replay will be available within 48 hours in the portal. A link will also be emailed out to you.

    A written summary of the advice and tips from the session will be available straight after each session in the portal too.

  • We will be focussing on making the Pattern of the month, however if you want to work on a different project you are very welcome to.

  • You'll receive an invitation to join our dedicated Facebook community group once your membership is confirmed.

  • Yes! We encourage members to share their creations in our community group for inspiration and celebration. Selected makes will then be featured in the member gallery too!

  • Members receive exclusive discounts from our curated list of fabric and notions suppliers. Perks will include discounts of between 10-20%, free gifts and in-person events and meet-ups. Details are available in the member portal.

  • All patterns are provided as downloadable PDF files as US Letter/A4 print at home tiled files and A0 copy shop files.

  • No special software is required. All resources are accessible through your web browser, and PDFs can be viewed with any standard PDF reader.

  • Yes! Our PDF patterns are formatted for easy printing both at home and at professional printing services.

  • If you have some experience of using a sewing machine to sew simple items, this is a great next step to get you started on sewing garments. The portal includes lots of helpful tips and advice for new sewists.

  • Preparation can be completed over the first 2-3 weeks of the month in bite-sized chunks. You’ll receive email prompts to keep you on track. The sewing part should take around 2-3 hours for a sewist with some experience, it may take longer if you are less experienced.

  • Discount codes and links are provided in your member portal, updated regularly as new partnerships develop.

  • Absolutely! Our community group is perfect for getting support, you can also email Sarah at any time and you can also ask questions during our live Saturday sessions.
